About

Hey there, I’m Joanne!

I’m an award-winning Australian-American screenwriter and producer,  and founder of Sweetest Pit Bull Productions. I have a knack for writing underdog characters across multiple genres.

I’m a proud member of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, Australian Writers’ Guild, British Film Institute, and a writer at The Royal Court Theatre in London with their Writers Card playwriting community.

My work has been recognized internationally, including a Best Feature Screenplay Finalist Award in the UK from The Golden Script Competition for ‘Sex, Drugs & Crow’s Feet’ which was also a nominee at the New Media Film Festival in Los Angeles. Additionally, my feature film script ‘You Had Me At Aloha’ won an Aloha Accolade Award at the Honolulu Film Awards. I also received Official Finalist Awards for my TV pilot script ‘Life of Groupies’ at both the Hollywood Screenplay Contest and the Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest.

Several of short film scripts, ‘Be Careful What You Ask For’, ‘The Magic Mirror,’ and ‘Hypnagogia’ earned their place on The Red List, ranking as top-rated scripts on Coverfly, the industry’s largest talent-screenwriter platform in the US.

My debut children’s book series which includes The Adventures of Tommy Tofu, Tommy Tofu’s Christmas Wish, and Tommy Tofu Goes to School, received an approval from Sir Paul McCartney’s company, Meat Free Monday, and is available in Waterstones, Foyles and Blackwell’s in the UK, and globally on Amazon.
